Construction contracts in Saudi Arabia have been signed throughout the US-Israeli war with Iran, despite a spike in materials costs and contractor fees, new data shows.
The value of new contracts issued in March 2026 totalled just over $4 billion, according to data released by the Saudi Contractor Authority (SCA) – more than double the value of new contracts issued in the same period a year ago and more than five times more than those issued in February.
Construction experts say work has continued apace in Saudi Arabia, even under the barrage of missiles and drones Iran fired at Gulf states since the start of the conflict.
“We’re still getting a lot of inquiries,” said Gordon Rodger, founder of construction project management company Stonehaven. “I haven’t seen too much of a negative impact on what’s happened in the last month.”
